Preservation Society

The Preservation Society is our quarterly membership that includes four amazing beers curated in advance. The Preservation Society is open year ’round, so please feel free to sign up at any time! The quarterly membership is priced at $70 (plus taxes) with a retail value exceeding $100. You can choose to pick-up your quarterly boxes and other orders at our Fulfillment Centers in Orange County, CA or Washington D.C., so please keep this in mind when deciding whether to sign up as a West Coast or East Coast member.  You can also elect to have your beer shipped for an additional fee. In addition to your quarterly box, your membership will also include:

  • Access to purchase exclusive archive and member-only beers
  • 10% off all Online & Tasting Room purchases
  • Exclusive access to member-only events at our Tasting Room
  • Early access to Bruery to beer releases and event ticket sales

Reserve Society

The Reserve Society is a yearly membership featuring exclusive and limited beers curated in advance. The Reserve Society is typically available for enrollment starting in September of each year. The yearly fee to join is $325 (plus taxes). You can choose to pick-up your included bottles and other orders at our Fulfillment Centers in Orange County, CA or Washington D.C., so please keep this in mind when deciding whether to sign up as a West Coast or East Coast member.  You can also elect to have your beer shipped for an additional fee. In addition to your included bottles, your membership will also include:

  • Access to purchase exclusive archive and member-only beers
  • 15% off all Online & Tasting Room purchases, excluding ticket purchases
  • Exclusive access to member-only events at our Tasting Room
  • Exclusive access to Bruery to beer releases and event ticket sales

Hoarders Society

The Hoarders Society is a yearly membership featuring exclusive and limited beers curated in advance. The Hoarders Society is invite-only and invitations are typically sent out via email right before the membership renewal begins. The yearly fee to join is $695 (plus taxes). You can choose to pick-up your included bottles and other orders at our Fulfillment Centers in Orange County, CA or Washington D.C., so please keep this in mind when deciding whether to sign up as a West Coast or East Coast member.  You can also elect to have your beer shipped for an additional fee. In addition to your included bottles, your membership will also include:

  • Access to purchase exclusive archive and member-only beers
  • 20% off all Online & Tasting Room purchases, excluding ticket purchases
  • Exclusive access to member-only events at our Tasting Room
  • First access to Bruery beer releases and event ticket sales

Societies terms and conditions

You must be 21 years old or older to be in any Society or purchase any beer from The Bruery. A Preservation Society membership applies to the quarter following the successful rebilling of quarterly membership fees. The Bruery may change prices (including membership price or retail prices) at its own discretion, effective upon notice and posting. The Bruery may substitute any scheduled beer for another beer or other merchandise. Discounts for special events may not apply.

For members who select California as their fulfillment center (i.e. “Preservation Society – CA”) sales are deemed to occur in Placentia, California, thus CA (Placentia area) sales tax will be applied to all orders at the current prevailing rate (7.75% as of 9/1/17). For members who select Washington, D.C. as their fulfillment center (i.e. “Preservation Society – DC”), sales are deemed to occur in Washington, D.C., thus, the Washington, D.C. sales tax rate for liquor sold for off-premise and on-premise consumption will be applied to all orders at the current prevailing rate (10.25% as of 9/1/17).

Billing

The Preservation Society is an ongoing subscription, meaning you will be automatically charged $70 (plus tax) at the beginning of each quarter. You understand that your Preservation Society Membership will automatically renew each quarter and you authorize us (without notice to you, unless required by applicable law) to collect the then-applicable membership fee and any taxes, using any credit card we have on record for you. Reserve Society & Hoarders Society are annual memberships that start on 01/01 of each year and end on 12/31. Reserve & Hoarders memberships are automatically renewed for the next calendar year in September.

Cancellation of Membership

Preservation Society members may be removed from future billings at any time. To cancel, please contact us at society@thebruery.com anytime before the recurring billing for the quarter takes place. You must notify us prior to the renewal of your membership to avoid being charged for that quarterly box. Please note that refunds will not be issued for a quarter that has already been billed.

All Memberships are designed to be held by one person, and all associated benefits may only be exercised by that person during the membership term. Memberships are non-transferable and all membership purchases are final, subject to the right of The Bruery to cancel or terminate a membership in accordance with this Agreement. The Bruery reserves the right to cancel and terminate a membership at any time and for any reason, effective immediately upon notice. Such reasons may include, but are not limited to, abuse of state or federal alcohol related laws, attempted shipments to minors, Society members reselling Society beer at retail establishments (regardless of whether the membership account is in the name of a retail establishment or an individual’s name), reselling of beer without required licenses, or other reasons that The Bruery may determine in its sole and absolute discretion. If The Bruery cancels a membership, a member’s sole recourse is limited to a refund of the fee assessed for the quarter minus the non-discounted retail value of any beers included with his/her membership level that have not already been picked up, or released by The Bruery, by the appropriate pickup deadline window (see Preservation Society Time Table below). Applicable refunds shall be made within thirty (30) days of cancellation notice.

Pickup, Delivery, Storage

Society Members enjoy the privilege of picking up online beer purchases in person at our Society Fulfillment Centers in California and Washington D.C. or having them shipped. Please note that additional fees will be applied to all shipping orders based on the amount of items being shipped. Recipients of shipped beer must be at least 21 years old and must be available to sign for their beer deliveries and verify their age. Trustees are allowed to pick up orders for a member at our Fulfillment Centers and proof of age is required to be provided for both the member and trustee at time of pick-up. The Bruery is not responsible for and will not issue refunds for any beer once signed for and released to either member or trustee.

Preservation, Reserve and Hoarders Society memberships also include the benefit of climate controlled storage of included beers, as well as online allocation purchases. Members of the 2023 Reserve and Hoarders Society have until the end of February 2024 to pick up or ship their beer purchases from the 2023 calendar year. Preservation Society members will have until the end of February 2024 to pick up or ship their quarterly boxes processed in 2023. Any beers from the 2023 cellar that are not fulfilled by the deadline date are subject to forfeiture and will be removed from the online cellar.

The Bruery will not issue refunds or exchanges for any items that are not picked up or shipped by the appropriate deadlines, or which cannot be successfully delivered to the address on file for any reason. The Bruery is not responsible for any change or failure to change your shipping information that may result in your beer being undeliverable. You will be responsible for any additional charges that may occur due to reshipping in the event that a delivery attempt fails. The Bruery is not responsible for any beer or merchandise once it has been signed for and/or picked up by a member or a trustee. Please allow yourself adequate time to check the accuracy of all orders before taking possession of the beer. We are not responsible for orders after they have been signed for.

2023 memberships are not interchangeable, as tax rates and fulfillment procedures vary. A member who purchases a “Preservation Society – DC” or “Reserve Society – DC” or “Hoarders Society – DC” membership may not pick up beer from CA. A member who purchases a “Preservation Society – CA” or “Reserve Society – CA” or “Hoarders Society – CA” membership may not pick up beer from DC.
